ALTHA RESPONDS TO NEW STUDY OF LTAC HOSPITALS

The following statement was issued by William Walters, the CEO of ALTHA:
ALTHA, the Washington‐based trade association for LTAC hospitals, is reviewing a new study about LTAC hospitals published this week in the Journal of American Medicine (JAMA). ALTHA welcomes the opportunity to conduct a meaningful dialogue about the role and value of LTAC hospitals in the American continuum of care. Although the LTAC hospital community has not yet had sufficient time to fully assess either the research or the conclusions, we would like to share our initial observations about the study.
